Meet Jumbo

For as long as he can remember, the sea has called to Jumbo. In fact, his love of lobster fishing is how Sean Neal got his famous nickname. As he tells it, his first Captain called him a “Jumbo” when the strapping nineteen year-old jumped on his boat. A Jumbo in lobster-speak is the largest size … and Jumbo certainly lives up to that!

Born to make nautical decor.

After many years as a lobsterman, fate dealt Jumbo a blow when he lost a majority of his lobster traps and equipment in the Patriot’s Day Storm of 2007. After deciding that he could not replace his inventory, Jumbo decided to use his lobster shed as a workshop and started painting his lobster buoys and making wooden birdhouses. As word spread, people started buying Jumbo’s distinct nautical decorations.

Each nautical gift has a story.

Never the same, these wooden birdhouses, lobster buoys and beach rugs are works of art. Your Jumbo’s of Maine handcrafted nautical decoration brings a bit of the beach to your decor and has a story to tell.
